Support

Hello. If something isn’t working, or you have an idea, I’d love to hear from you. A real person reads every message, usually within a couple of days.

Thank you — your message is on its way.

I read every message and usually reply within a couple of days.

Tick & Tide is a calm place for the days since you let something go, and the days until something good. If you’re stuck, you’re in the right place. Write to support@tickandtide.app or use the form below.

The easiest way is to send feedback from the app: tap the ladybug at the top of Settings (or its last row, Send feedback or report an issue) and leave “Include app and iPhone details” on. Writing by email instead? You’ll find the app version at the very bottom of Settings.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no sign-in. Your data stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.

How do I get my entries on a new iPhone?

Sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on and install Tick & Tide — your entries sync back by themselves. If you chose “Keep on this iPhone only”, turn iCloud on in the app’s Settings first. On a new iPhone, tap “Restore from iCloud or a backup” on the last welcome page and the app waits while everything comes back. Have a backup file? Settings → Data → Restore brings it back, free for everyone (Plus adds an extra backup to a file or folder).

My entries aren’t syncing.

Check that you’re signed in to iCloud (iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud) and that iCloud Drive is on and not full. Open the app on both devices while online and give it a minute.

I slipped. Is my streak gone?

Be kind to yourself — a slip is part of it. Your history, longest streak and total days are all kept, and you can set a short goal to turn the tide.

What’s the tide?

One number from 0 to 100 for how the last few weeks have gone, both letting go and looking forward. It rises with days free, cravings you let pass, kept pledges and things you’re looking forward to. A slip makes a small dip that fades by itself. Tap the tide in the app for the full explanation.

How do medals work?

Every habit, moment and countdown earns medals as the days go by, and special medals celebrate what you’re tracking. They’re yours to keep: a slip never takes one away.

ComebackAfter a slip, a new streak outlasts the one before it.
Let it passLet 10 cravings pass.
Seven pledgesKeep 7 pledges.

A freeze covers a slip so your streak keeps going (you can bank up to 5). Special medals count for entries that have been in the app for at least 7 days. Find them all at the top of Journey (also in Profile → Achievements) and on Apple Watch, from Today. Medals are free for everyone.

Where’s the calendar?

On the Timeline, tap the round calendar button to open the week strip, then expand it to see the whole month.

Can I use Siri or Shortcuts?

Yes. Try “Make today’s pledge in Tick & Tide”, “I let a craving pass in Tick & Tide”, “Log a craving in Tick & Tide”, “Log a slip in Tick & Tide” or “How long since I quit in Tick & Tide”. The same actions are in the Shortcuts app.

Which Apple Watch complications are there?

Three: Your tide (your tide and today’s pledge), Counter (any habit or countdown you pick) and Craving (ride out a craving in one tap). Touch and hold your watch face, tap Edit, then choose Tick & Tide.

Can notifications stay quiet at night?

Yes. Quiet hours (Settings → Notifications) cover every notification, 22:00 to 08:00 unless you change them: milestones and countdown nudges wait until the morning, and places you arrive at show up silently. Your pledge and How’s it going reminders keep the times you chose. Tapping a notification opens its entry.

How do I restore Plus?

Settings → Plus → Restore purchase. You’ll see “Plus is back. Thank you!” when it’s found, or “No Plus purchase found on this Apple Account” if that Apple Account hasn’t bought it. Plus is shared with your Family Sharing group.

Place nudges don’t arrive.

They need Location set to “Always” and Precise Location on for Tick & Tide (iPhone Settings → Tick & Tide → Location), and notifications allowed.

How do I stop sharing a habit or countdown?

Open the entry, tap its sharing button and choose Stop sharing. The other person can also leave at any time.

How do I delete my data?

See Deleting your data in the privacy policy.

Free and Plus

Free, for good, with no ads: unlimited entries counting up or down, celebrations and share cards, reminders, a calm minute to breathe, your tide, iCloud sync and restoring from a backup, sharing with someone you trust, achievements and medals, search, a list or grid Timeline, the Apple Watch app, widgets, Live Activities and the app lock.

Go Plus and get: deeper insights, place nudges, your own milestones, counter styles, themes and app icons, extra backup to a file or folder, and CSV / PDF export. It’s shared with your family through Family Sharing, and the App Store shows the price in your currency.
